Yue Ting Siu |

Ting is a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) and Assistant Professor in the teacher prep program for visual impairments at San Francisco State University. Her experience includes working with students aged birth to 65 with visual impairments, multiple disabilities, and deafblindness. Ting has worked in the Deafblind Program at the Perkins School for the Blind, Jewish Guild for the Blind (NYC), and the NYC Department of Education as an itinerant TVI and technology trainer. Ting earned a Ph.D in special education from UC Berkeley where her research focused on communities of practice to support TVIs' technology use. She also provides consulting support in the following areas: development of assistive and educational technologies for nonvisual learners, community education to design and deliver accessible instructional media, and TVI trainings to facilitate accessibility and technology use in the classroom.
